Hamilton called time on his glittering spell with Mercedes last year, having won six of his seven drivers' championships during his 12 seasons with the Silver Arrows.

Drivers began 2025 pre-season testing in Bahrain on Wednesday, with Hamilton setting the second-fastest time of the week during the morning session on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters during the second day of testing, the 40-year-old said he is enjoying driving Ferrari's new SF-25 car and believes he has acclimatised well.

"How you start is often very important," Hamilton said. "This past month couldn't have gone any differently and couldn't have gone any better.

"Every day has been significant and about building a foundation. While I mentioned we had to cram a lot into a short space of time, we haven't rushed it.

"Long days, but that's what we're here for. I think it will pay dividends going forward.

"This will continuously be evolving and it's felt seamless, it has felt easy in a sense of gelling with the team. I've not had to force it and I feel at home."

Hamilton is hoping to mount a challenge for a record-breaking eighth world championship this year, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen having won the last four titles in a row.

While Hamilton appreciates his new team have work to do to bridge the gap to Red Bull, he believes it has been a case of so far, so good since he arrived at Maranello.

"I think it's a bit early to say, but I am really enjoying the car. We are slowly bonding,66br.com I think. Yesterday was a so-so day, it was just okay," he said.

"But we got through all our run plans, we are testing a bunch of things. I'm not doing set-up changes or directing where we want the car to go, whereas today was about exploring my interactions with my engineer.

"So far, I really enjoy driving this car. These days are about exploring. At the moment, there's still room to explore more and bit by bit, I'm eking out a bit more."

Meanwhile, Lesotho also have just one win under their belt, having played four matches so far and are fifth.

The tournament, however, was supposed to be hosted by Bangladesh, but was shifted to the UAE due to the political unrest in the country after students’ protest over jobs quota. 

Ferrari have just over two weeks to finetune their preparations ahead of the season-opening Australian Grand Prixcarnivalcity7, which takes place on March 16.
