Kohli becomes the seventh Indian and 22nd overall to achieve this milestone. Kohli's ODI debut came way back in 2008 against Sri Lanka in Dambulla. Since then, the former captain has amassed 14,085 runs including 51 centuries - the most by any batter in this format.
Kohli has led India in 95 ODIs including the 2017 Champions Trophy and the 2019 ODI World Cup.

Earlier, NZ captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to field in their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tie against India in Dubai on Sunday. Both the sides are through to the semi-finals but the winner of today's tie will play Australia, whereas the loser plays South Africa in the other semi.
